Adesuwa Omoruan- a World Class and seasoned Journalist reaches out to even more

Adesuwa Omoruan is dubbed the "queen of selfies" by her siblings. She confesses to taking more selfies than regulars photographs. When Adesuwa Omoruan was a child, she never thought or imagined herself becoming a broadcaster; it was the last thing she ever thought of becoming. As far as she was concerned, the lifestyle of reporters was not up to par with the kind of life she wanted, as the young dreamer that she was at the time. She wanted a life that was rich and full of the best life could offer,  although she wasn't seeking a life that was necessarily flamboyant.  "I just felt that journalist were not paid enough... My idea of a journalist wasn't just working at that time. Sometimes they looked very stressed, very few of them had cars... Growing up, I had this picture of what I wanted to be in life..." She had wanted to become a banker!  As a child, she had taken trips to the bank with her mother on several occasions to cash-in her moth

Whom Are You Gonna Settle Down With?

Your Career Depends on It! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Image Credit: hellomagazine.com  "The most important career choice you'll make is who you marry."- Sheryl Sandberg Facebook COO "The most important decision many of you will make, not all of you, will be the spouse you choose," since "you will move in the direction of the people that you associate with."- Warren Buffet How very fitting! The sort of person who wants to rule the world- a marriage that'll be a power-partnership. Some people get married for the most stupid of reasons! Some just want to settle down. Think again! I went from rural Nigeria to an MIT-backed startup -- with a Nokia phone!

Elvis Chidera I'm a 19-year-old developer at an  MIT-backed startup  called  dot Learn  in Lagos, living in the bustle of Nigeria's largest city. But until recently my life was quite different. Just a few years ago, I was living in rural southeastern Nigeria and had nothing but a basic Nokia 2690 phone -- and a big dream to improve the world using technology. Here's my journey from "village boy" to the epicenter of West Africa's tech boom. I began programming at 11 years old. As a kid I spent hours on websites and downloading and playing the latest games. After a while I became curious about how websites, which seemed to exist almost by magic, were built -- and how I could build one myself. My first step was, like most people, to Google it. This led me to the  W3Schools  tutorials, a handy site where you can learn to program. To build a website I needed a computer, but no one in my family could afford one. Luckily, my relative gave me

Today he announced a $4 million funding round at a $134 million valuation, bringing Teachable’s total capital invested to $12.5 million. The firm has 64 employees. At a time when people can learn almost anything from a YouTube video, Nagpal says many students pre

What Successful People Do To Get Ahead!

image credit jamesaltucher.com A certain farmer had become old and ready to pass his farm down to one of his two sons. When he brought his sons together to speak about it, he told them:  The farm will go to the younger son. The older son was furious!  “What are you talking about?!”  he fumed. The father sat patiently, thinking. “Okay,”  the father said,  “I need you to do something for me. We need more stocks. Will you go to Cibi’s farm and see if he has any cows for sale?” The older son shortly returned and reported,  “Father, Cibi has 6 cows for sale.” The father graciously thanked the older son for his work. He then turned to the younger son and said,  “I need you to do something for me. We need more stocks. Will you go to Cibi’s farm and see if he has any cows for sale?” The younger son did as he was asked. A short while later, he returned and reported,  “Father, Cibi has 6 cows for sale. Each cow will cost 2,000 rupees. If we are thinking about buying more than 6

A Success Story

A Success Story by Niel  Darusa 9 months ago I went to fix up my phone. It fell down and the screen was just scattered all over. I literally couldn’t see a thing on the screen. It was a Galaxy s6 plus to be precise. So I took the phone to a phone repairs shop nearby and when I got there I saw the guy Sleeping. For the sake of the synopsis let’s call him Jerry. Jerry was just sleeping on the table. Well not really on the table, he was sitting down with this head on the table while he dosed off. So I walked up to him and woke him up then I said “hi, I hope this is a good time for you, my phone has an issue and I’m here to fix it up”. He said “Oh yes sure, this is a great time really, I was just praying”. I laughed. He then said “Okay so what is the problem with your phone”. I gave him the phone and told him the issue with the phone and then we had a long conversation about the issue and how he is going to fix it up and the cost of fixing up the phone. After
