I really enjoyed and loved The Blood Covenant. It's up there with the best Nollywood movies to come out this year.

I really love the beginning with those kids playing police and thief. It's a good little detail, establishing Eddy and Osiano's neighborhood.

I also love how their apartment was initially introduced. That overhead shot. It's a great choice of location.

I love the set design of their apartment. It was perfectly executed and that scene with Osiano's sister (aunty maybe?) was a masterpiece.

I think Gregory Ojefua is highly underrated. His performance here was top notch. He deserves recognition. He definitely played the part of an underground big boss. His character stood out for me. That bit were he washed his bloody fingers in the fish tank points to the genius of Fiyin Gambo and his attention to detail.

Shawn Faqua is a natural. I love his character and that of Jite. They are two of my favorite characters and they were perfectly delivered. Great job.

Ufuoma McDermott was also impressive as the detective. I would have love to see her more in action.

Erica Nlewedim did a great job with Adaugo.

I am always a big fan of story and characters, and The Blood Covenant delivers on both counts.

The characters of Jite, Eddy and Osiano blends so well together. I love the chemistry the guys have. The ease at which they relate feels very natural and organic. I love their camaraderie. Made me laugh and gave me warm feelings. I found myself smiling a lot when they are together.

I love how Obi was introduced. The choice of music was excellent. I like that he is this mystery fourth person (of the group) who is finally introduced in grand style.

The Blood Covenant has a nice blend of comedy and drama. Intelligent comedy that actually works, that fits the fabric of the film. The jokes really land. They are organic, not forced, effortless.

While The Blood Covenant is not a perfect movie - it had just tiny wrinkles - it was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.

Well done Otunba. Keep making us proud, man.

9/10
